Week 11

I would probably use post as a call of action to make people visit my page because I'm kind of low on budget but once in a while it will be a good idea to pay Facebook to advertise my post and show the post to people that have been researching on auto detailing because some of them might be interested on getting a detail and will check out my page. Facebook gives you the option to promote your page as an specific post or to send them off Facebook. I would do it as an specific post and just put a link to my website on the page for people that would like to visit the website, I think this is a better idea because I hate clicking on links that take me to another website especially when I'm using my phone.

The first one is an example of a paid advertisement I chose cities that aren't to far away I was going to add cities all the way to San Diego but lets be realistic the chances of someone  driving more than 30 minutes to get their car detailed are kind of low so I stayed in North County and that way we wont have to spend so much gas going all the way over there either. I realized I forgot Escondido.

The last advertisement is free advertisement, I added a bright red car because bright colors attract more attention and I talk about an interesting toping. I have the option to add a YouTube video or a link to our website.

  1. HI Cindy! I think Facebook is an excellent source for advertising, even for a small budget like yourself. They use geographic locations for advertising so it would be specific to people in your area. FAcebook takes a lot of the work out of advertising so it is a really great tool to have. I like your ads too, great work!

  2. Oh neat! You actually got all the way to a complete ad image. I thought that to get to that point I'd have to pay. Hm. I really like the one with the car. It makes you want a nice clean car and therefore a car wash! Nice. :-)

  4. I like that you took into consideration about what may happen with an ad when used on a mobile phone. That's good thinking as I didn't even consider that. Might be nice for people to have a coupon that can be received on their mobile phone that they can use for a discounted detailing.

    I have a suggestion for the timing of your ads. You might offer a coupon around Father's Day. It can be pushed to women/wives/spouses so that they can treat their "man" on Father's Day. Perhaps Valentine's Day and birthdays would be a good time as a detailed car is always a great gift for a man.

  5. I think it is a great idea to stay on a low budget with Facebook advertising since you can do so much advertising on Facebook, without spending a dime.

    Your sample ads are very appealing and I like how you have one that provides your viewers with free tips, which really attracts and holds their interest.

    Great Job!

  6. Cindy,
    I think its great that Facebook allows your to target people in a general radius from where your business is located. For you its just a waist of your budget to post to potential followers in LA or Further. Keep in local and in a close radius to get a more impactful boost.

    As Mary said I think Fathers day specials would be great or other Bday promos to get someone to give the Car Detail as a gift is a good way to drive traffic and exposure to your website.

  8. Hi Cindy,
    I agree that geography would be a factor with the type of business. People tend to want to stay close to home for many of their business interaction. On your red car ad, maybe you can have a "before" and "after" photo of the work you can do. People love to see the "end results."

  9. I can see how Promoted page ads on Facebook would be a great tool for geographic specific services such as auto detailing. I love your sample ads. I think the FB ads that target 'friends of friends' could be a good option for your business. People trust referrals and seeing 'Sally and Bob both like Richard's auto detailing' is a great call to action for people to like your page. It's a good way to attract brand recognition and likes, even if it's not an immediate conversion to a sale or discount rate offered to people, etc. Nice work and good luck;
    Laurie
